The first German city of Münster is withdrawing all of its funds from investments that are harmful to the environment. The divestment underpins the city's existing policies on energy. The money will now be removed from the investment pot of coal companies and pharmaceutical giants.
More than 2,000 individuals, institutions and cities around the world so far have moved their assets to more sustainable, ethical investments. The most well-known representative of the movement is actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
