Pennsylvania mayor: If we don't accept Syrian refugees, 'then shame on us as a nation'

While many U.S. politicians are shutting the door on Syrian refugees, Ed Pawlowski, the mayor of Allentown, Pennsylvania, said his city is welcoming them with open arms. So far, Allentown has accepted nine refugee families since March, bringing small city's total to 44 people. During a news conference this week, Mayor Pawlowski asked: Should we offer help to an innocent family based on their personal or religious backgrounds? "Should we welcome that family into this country? Yes," he said. "If we don't, then shame on us as a nation."
