Një dite para 14 qershorit i caktuar si data ndërkombëtare e dhurimit te gjakut, Ministria e Shëndetësisë ka bere apel për rritjen e numrit te dhuruesve. Për te sensibilizuar qytetaret ka nisur një fushate ne administratën shtetërore, por edhe ne banka e institucione private. Kjo periudhe shënoi një rritje ne sasinë e gjakut te grumbulluar edhe si pasoje e tragjedisë se Himarës, ku ne dy dite u arrit sasia qe grumbullohej ne një muaj. Megjithatë qe te jemi te mjaftueshëm ne gjak duhet te kemi 20 dhurime për 1 mije banore, nga 8.7 dhurime qe kemi aktualisht. Megjithatë Shqipëria ka ende rezerva te pamjaftueshme te gjakut. Ne një vit mesatarisht grumbullohen 25 mije njësi, e do te duheshin edhe te paktën 5 mije njësi te tjera për te përballuar vetëm nevojat primare. Periudha e verës sjell gjithmonë vështirësi ne dhurimet e gjakut, pasi numri i vullnetareve ulet, si pasoje e pushimeve.

A day before the June 14 date designated as the international blood donation, the Ministry of Health has made an appeal to the increasing number of donors. To sensitize citizens launched a campaign in the state administration, but also in private institutions and banks. This period marked an increase in the amount of blood collected as a result of the tragedy that Himara, where in two days reached the amount that we collected in a month. However as they are sufficient we should have 20 blood donations for one thousand inhabitants, from 8.7 donations that we have currently. However, Albania is still insufficient blood reserves. We collected an average year 25 thousand units, it would take at least 5 thousand other units to meet the priority needs only. Periods of summer always brings difficulties in blood donations, as the number of volunteers decreased, due to holidays.
