Kandidati i vetëshpallur për president, Fatos Nano, do te takohet sot me kryeministrin Sali Berisha për te diskutuar mundësinë e votimit te tij. Pas rreth 90 minutash, ish-kreu i socialisteve Fatos Nano pritet te ngjisë shkallet e kryeministrisë dhe te vizitoje pasardhësin e tij ne qeveri, te cilit ia dorëzoi pushtetin pas humbjes ne zgjedhjet e vitit 2005. Ky është takimi i fundit i Nanos me krerët e partive parlamentare, ne kuadër te negociatave për prezantimin e platformës për drejtimin e shtetit. Siç e ka deklaruar edhe vete Nano ditët e fundit, takimi i sotëm është me i rëndësishmi, pasi do te jete vendimtar për ambicien e tij presidenciale. Deri tani ish-lideri socialist ka biseduar me kreun e PS-së Edi Rama, atë te LSI-së, Ilir Meta, Vangjel Dulen e PBDNJ-së, Shpëtim Idrizin e PDIU-së, si dhe kreun e republikanëve, Fatmir Mediu. Nano madje është takuar disa here edhe me ambasadorin amerikan ne vendin tone, Aleksandër Arvizu. Por kandidati për president nuk ka deklaruar nëse ka marre mbështetjen e ndonjë grupi politik, kur atij i duhen te paktën 20 firma deputetesh për t'u futur për votim ne parlament. Një ditë më parë Sali Berisha tha gjate mbledhjes se qeverise se me çështjen e zgjedhjes se presidentit do te merret pas kthimit nga samiti i Çikagos, pra pas datës 22 maj, ndërkohë qe nisja e procedurave te votimit për kreun e shtetit është 24 maji. Fatos Nano është takuar ne pozicionin e ish-kreut socialist me shefin e mazhorances ne vitin 2007 ne Pallatin e Brigadave, duke ndihmuar Berishën ne atë qe u quajt "kriza e çertifikatave" ne prag te zgjedhjeve lokale.
