Cilësia e dobët e karburanteve qe shitet ne tregun vendas duket se është një problem qe nuk po gjen zgjidhje. Ndonëse zyrtarisht pohohet se tregu është përmirësuar nga viti ne vit, konsumatoret dhe bizneset e hidrokarbureve ngrenë shqetësim për cilësinë e tyre. Kryeinspektori qendror teknik, Ardian Alushi, thotë se pas kontrolleve te ushtruara, 592 raste analizash kane rezultuar jashtë standardit ligjor, nga 5600 analiza qe janë bere gjithsej. Sipas tij, problemi qëndron ne rezervat e mbetura te karburantit nga viti 2010 me përmbajtje te larte squfuri qe janë duke u tregtuar ende. Por shoqata e hidrokarbureve kundërshton këtë argument. Sipas saj, ka shume pika te tregtimit qe janë jashtë kontrollit te inspektoratit. Gjithsej numërohen mbi 1000 pika tregtimi karburantesh. Pas kontrollove te inspektoratit një pjese e tyre janë gjobitur. Por për ekspertet vetëm privatizimi i kontrollit laboratorik te naftës dhe gazit mund te sjelle një përmirësim te cilësisë se lendeve djegëse.
