Komisioni i Venecias ka nisur zyrtarisht punën për shqyrtimin e kodin zgjedhor ne Shqipëri, për te dhënë me pas rekomandimet përkatëse për përmirësimin e tij, me qellim shmangien e situatave te krijuara si ajo e pas zgjedhjeve për Bashkine e Tiranes.
Këshilli për zgjedhje demokratike, një strukture brenda komisionit, parashikohet te mbaje një mbledhje këtë te enjte për te koordinuar edhe hapat qe duhen ndërmarrë ne këtë drejtim. Ndërkohë, siç njoftohet edhe ne faqen zyrtare te komisionit te Venecias, një delegacion zyrtar i tij do te vizitoje Tiranen me 24 dhe 25 tetor, për te zhvilluar takime me drejtues e larte shtetërorë dhe partive politike, me qëllim mbledhjen e informacionit te nevojshëm për reformën zgjedhore. Ne faqen e Komisionit te Venecias, theksohet se pas zgjedhjeve lokale të 8 majit dhe në veçanti në lidhje me polemikat për zgjedhjen e kryetarit të Bashkisë së Tiranës. Sekretari i Përgjithshëm i Këshillit të Evropës, Thjoborn Jagland, kërkoi një opinion, mbi të cilin duhet të bëhen përmirësime të legjislacionit zgjedhor Shqipëri.
