Bolivia: Efforts Underway to Save Indigenous Languages

Bolivia's indigenous majority speaks 36 different languages, four of which are in danger of dying out. Leaders of indigenous communities have teamed up with linguists to undertake efforts to protect such languages and pass them on to the next generation. Measures include instruction in schools and universities and requiring public servants to speak at least one native language.
