In order to keep Porto from "parking the bus", Barcelona`s manager, Dutch legend Johan Cruyff, instructed Romário to drop deep. That did the trick, and better than Cruyff himself in his wildest dreams could have expected. Porto`s defenders, overzealous to double, triple, even QUADRUPLE the Brazilian out of the game, allowed themselves to be drawn out of position, thus exposing much of their left side, so that Romário`s striking partner, Bulgarian Hristo Stoichkov, needn`t even escape a marker before he volleyed home a pinpoint cross from left wingback Sergi Barjuan. Whilst Stoichkov`s 1st goal required a world class striker like him to score it, almost any player would have scored the 2nd one.
