Lewis Hamilton has revealed he was involved in a car accident in Monaco on Monday night and travelled to the Brazilian Grand Prix a day late as a result.

The three-time world champion, who says he has also been struggling with illness, posted a picture of himself en route to Sao Paulo on his Instagram account on Wednesday.

He informed his fans that he 'made very light contact with a stationary vehicle' in the principality earlier in the week but that nobody was hurt.
