Scientists examining KIC 8462852 in the time since strange signals were discovered, raising hopes of finding alien life there, have come up empty handed for supporting evidence.

About a month ago, researchers published a paper concerning unusual signals coming from a far-off star named KIC 8462852. 
Some were hopeful that proof of alien life was imminent.
