But one four-year-old boy in Saudi Arabia recently had a bobby pin lodged in his right kidney for over three months.
The boy swallowed the hair accessory about a month before any symptoms occurred.
Eventually, he began to experience pain in his right flank and upper right quadrant.
He was taken to a medical facility where the bobby pin was discovered. Doctors there said it would pass through naturally.
