Chilean Archbishop Cardinal Ricardo Ezzati was in court yesterday to answer a judge's questions on the church's alleged cover-up of sexual abuse by priest Fernando Karadima, convicted in 2011 and ordered to retire. The victims' defense lawyer criticized Ezzati for failing to apologize for the damage caused. In the church's defense, Ezzati spoke of the need for love and truth toward the victims of sexual abuse and of following a new path of reconciliation. teleSUR
