The pair have shared a duopoly on the Ballon D’Or since 2008 – Ronaldo winning three, Messi four – and they’re set to battle it out again this January for world football’s top individual gong.

Ronaldo recognizes Messi as an ‘unbelievable’ player, and admits that the Argentine has probably helped him continually strive to improve himself….

but as far as Ronaldo is concerned, he’s number 1.
