Argentinian scientists and researchers have begun to participate in the presidential campaign in support of the Front for Victory party candidate, Daniel Scioli. Members of the National Commission for Scientific and Technical Research are calling for the continuation of state support for scientific activities, noting that the government has doubled the science and technology budget since 2003 and increased scholarships by 400%. Such advances are often cited as one of the strong points of the Cristina Fernandez administration and it is hoped that Scioli will continue her policies.
