All Souls Day, celebrated by indigenous people in Bolivia for thousands of years before the Spaniards arrived, is a time of receiving the souls of those who have died. It is associated with All Saints Day, which began with the arrival of Catholicism. A special sweet bread, tantawawa, baked in the shape of a baby, is enjoyed at the celebrations. It comes in all shapes and sizes, including the largest of its kind in the world, measuring 2.5 meters long.
