According to a multi-dimensional study by a youth NGO, Techo, 70% of the Honduran population lives in poverty and 3.2 million people do not have enough food to meet their needs. The lack of education and opportunities and the inability to access land exacerbate the cycle of poverty. For many in the Honduran middle class, however, such poverty is largely ignored.
