A video has emerged from the US of a man taking Greek mythology seriously, throwing a hammer in a classic Olympic fashion.

But this reenactment of the 3,000-year-old sport has been adapted to suit the world of modern digital media - The hammer is on fire and the footage is slow motion, making it pretty awesome to watch.

The video was filmed in Broadway, Ulster County on Wednesday.
