Nintendo is often referred to as the Disney of video games. And while that’s mostly a complement, the comparison does highlight some negatives—is Nintendo, like Disney, a bit too conservative with their icons? In this edition of PONDering, we ask the question and compare Nintendo to one of Disney’s old rivals, an animation studio that took a slightly different approach to its own iconic characters.
