Pittsburgh Steelers CB Brandon Boykin has played two snaps in the past two games combined.
In a 23-20 loss to the Ravens, Boykin didn’t play any snaps, even with the Steelers down a cornerback with Cortez Allen’s injury.
“I’m just going to say that I’m going to do what they tell me to do,” Boykin told reporters Monday.
But what about his sparse playing time?
“I mean I’ve had conversations with (the coaching staff),” he said.
The Steelers shipped a conditional draft choice to the Eagles for the right to Boykin early in August after question marks all over the secondary forced their hand.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said he liked Boykin when he played at the University of Georgia, so the guy Pro Football Focus ranked as one of the best slot cornerbacks in the NFL during the 2014 season seemed to be a perfect fit.
With an expiring contract set to make him a free agent at the end of this season, the Brandon Boykin experiment is in danger of being a supreme bust.
