This morning trade ministers of 12 countries, including Peru, announced that they had reached an agreement on the secret Trans Pacific Partnership deal. Recently Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz informed President Ollanta Humala that the agreement will bring unequal and harmful trade relations to the country, including an extended monopoly period on medicines. This will have a dire effect on people who need affordable health care. In Peru the civil society has little to say about the deal negotiated in secret with no set process for Congressional ratification. Rael Mora reports from Lima for teleSUR
