The National Resistance Front, in conjunction with the Libre Party, has announced a national strike for this Thursday in Honduras to pressure the government to stop the persecution of the opposition and aggressive privatization measures. Demonstrations and protests will be held in the country’s main cities along roadblocks on important thoroughfares. President Juan Orlando Hernandez is at the United Nations trying to garner support for a dialogue that many believe would include the group close to the government and not the majority of the people.
