Footage has emerged of flash flooding during a major thunderstorm in Maryland, US on Tuesday.

The video shows thunder and lightning and flooding in Frederick, Maryland, where an estimated four-and-a-half inches of rain fell yesterday evening.

People in certain parts of Virginia and Maryland have been advised to anticipate flooding on roads and near rivers and streams.
