On the second full day of his visit to Cuba, Pope Francis has met with local bishops in the city of Santiago and also blessed the southeastern city of Holguin backed by a chorus of Cuban children. Holguin is regarded as one of the oldest centers of Catholicism in Cuba and is also the birthplace of the brothers Fidel and Raul Castro. There the Pope held a large mass in which he called on the faithful to respect the old, the sick and the poor. His efforts in promoting normalization with the United States have been greatly appreciated in Cuba. He will travel to the United States on Tuesday. teleSUR
