Mumbai: The Maharashtra government transferred investigations into the Sheena Bora murder case from the Mumbai Police to the Central Bureau of Investigation. This comes a day after it emerged that current Mumbai Police Commissioner Ahmad Javed “knew” Sheena’s mother Indrani Mukerjea and her husband Peter and had invited them to a social function last year. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) K P Bakshi admitted that the probe was being transferred to “avoid any doubts in the minds of the public”.
