The Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) are on the verge of reaching an agreement on the difficult issue of transitional justice. The issue is complicated because each side blames the other for the violence and deaths in the 5-decade civil war. Rebel leaders said the agreement includes a definitive bilateral ceasefire. They also called for resolving the border closing dispute between Colombia and Venezuela as soon as possible, saying that doing so was necessary for the peace process to proceed. teleSUR
