In Surat, a network of High speed close-circuit TV cameras (CCTV) installed at major traffic junctions are keeping a constant watch on the vehicles. will record traffic violations, including jumping of signals and overspeeding, and offenders will be asked to pay fine for breaking rules. Recently, Surat became the first city in the country to have a real-time CCTV surveillance network.
