11-Year-Old Shoots Intruder Dead


They say that dynamite sometimes comes in small packages. Not much proves that true more than this story.
Although accounts differ, depending on whether you ask the family or one of their neighbors, what we do know happened is that a 16-year-old tried to get into the house that an 11-year-old and his four-year-old sister were alone in. The intruder tried multiple times to gain entry into the house before trying the front door. Finding it unlocked, he walked in. Just as he did, the 11-year-old fired a single fatal shot. A second 16-year-old suspect heard the shot and took off. He was found and arrested shortly thereafter.
Police are investigating why the children were home alone – an investigation that their mother is said to be fully cooperating in.
A neighbor tells a slightly different version of what transpired, however, claiming that the 11-year-old and the 16-year-old were arguing before the shooting occurred.
“[The unnamed suspect] was always sitting on the porch. He never went inside the house,” the neighbor told the station.
