In his annual State of the Nation address, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto cited "unfortunate incidents" that have deeply affected public opinion and undermined confidence in his administration. The President referred to rampant organized crime, violence, and corruption; the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students; and the prison escape of top drug trafficker Joaquin El Chapo Guzman.
