Two years after the official start on talks about the accession of turkey to the European Union, the Greek public opinion remains very divided on the question. The conservative government which has been ruling the country since 2004, and most politicians are in favor of Turkey's membership, though they stress the fact the country will have to respect all the requirements involved the treaty... The Greek public opinion, however, doesn't really back up this position: despite the fact both cultures have many things in common, 70% of Greeks are opposed to such a perspective.
