Mercedes Benz has released an image of its S-Class Cabriolet just before its global debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The image showcases the upcoming Cabriolet alongside its predecessor which was launched way back in 1961.

The biggest feature of the S-Class Cabriolet would be the fact that it would have the largest folding roof of all Mercedes convertibles ever produced. And because of that the boot had to be enlarged just to accommodate the roof when it is folded down.

Other noticeable design changes in the car include a strengthened windscreen, new wing panels and a redesigned boot lid. The car will be made available in two petrol options – a 449bhp 4.6-liter V8 and 577bhp 5.5-liter V8. Plans are also afloat to add a much more powerful V12 engine in the future.

Once launched, the S-Class Cabriolet will cost more than 1 crore in Indian money. Well whosoever said luxury don’t come cheap was dead right.
