While six PAS leaders have qualified to contest for the party's position of deputy president, all signs point to a straight fight between incumbent Nasharuddin Mat Isa and his contender Mohamad Sabu.

This is because two of the six who have garnered enough nominations, Kelantan exco Husam Musa and vice-president Salahuddin Ayub, have made it known that they will not bid for the number two spot.
