This week's Occupy Dataran, the 12th that's been put together by the KL People's Assembly had extra significance to it -- it was to mark the simultaneous coming together of people in 82 countries and 951 cities in a global movement to claim rights and true democracy.
A number of activities had been arranged including games, pot-luck picnic and open discussions on issues that the participants would have voted for. Even a karoake session slated for 3am, Sunday morning had been on the cards.
But the police moved in, asking the crowd of 150 to disburse because apparently, the city council would not allow such activities.
After discussions and voting the crowd decided that they would suspend their planned activities, dispurse into smaller groups but would remain in the Dataran. They would see what would happen next ...
