Empower, WOA and Sisters in Islam are some of the 15 NGOs that have joined hands to organise a processions of the 'Super' women or Wanita Suara Perubahan from two gathering points in Petaling Jaya on Sunday in their call for clean and good governance.

Calling itself Wanita Suara Perubahan (Wanita Super MY), the coalition hopes to attract 10,000 people to turn up on Sunday to support its six-point demand.

Police are expected to deploy their men to control traffic on Sunday and Maria said the NGOs would also have teams of members to ensure smooth traffic flow along their march routes.

Members and supporters of All Women's Action Society (Awam), Tenaganita, Sisters in Islam and Empower will lead the procession from the Taman Jaya lake.

Those gathering to take off from the Tun Abdul Aziz Mosque will be the Association of Women Lawyers (AWL), Women's Aid Organisation (WAO), Ikram and orang asli groups.

The processions are also a move by Wanita Super MY to show its opposition to the newly-passed Peaceful Assembly Act, which prohibits street demonstrations.
