The Colombian government is open to amending the Constitution to allow for eventual agreements reached in the peace talks, said head negotiator Humberto de la Calle. The FARC has called for a Constituent Assemby to incorporate the content of the peace deal in the Constitution. The FARC also insists on the release of 12,000 of its members now held in Colombian prisons as part of the final peace agreement with the government, including Simon Trinidad, imprisoned in the United States, and calls on the government to stop the arrests of political prisoners. teleSUR
