Mahalatechumy, aged 16, has been applying for a Blue IC for the past 4 years, she has been turned down ten times on no specific grounds.

She has been in the spotlight in recent months when she was suspended from school for a month because of not having an IC , and was visited by a representative from the Prime Minister's Office, S. Subramaniam who vowed to solve the problem.
Months have passed and there hasn't been any change in her IC status.
