Police extricated a body from a crushed car at around 8.40pm on Friday night following the collapse of a ramp leading to the Second Penang Bridge. The police said they needed to wait for the autopsy to confirm the identity of the victim. However it is believed that the victim is Tajudin Zainal Abidin, 45, a former policeman, based on identification by family members.
