Father of Palestinian Toddler Killed in Arson Attack Dies in Hospital. A Palestinian man who was severely burned in an arson attack last week that killed his 18-month-old son died of his wounds early Saturday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Saad Dawabsheh, 32, was to be buried later Saturday. The July 31 firebombing of his family’s home in Duma, a West Bank hamlet, killed Mr. Dawabsheh’s son, Ali, and also badly burned his wife, Riham, 27, and their other son, Ahmad, 4. Both of them remained hospitalized Saturday with life-threatening injuries.
Jewish extremists are suspected in the firebombing, which was branded a terrorist attack by both Israeli and Palestinian politicians.
Inbar Gutter, a spokeswoman for Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, said Mr. Dawabsheh had died early Saturday morning. Dr. Motti Klein, who runs the hospital’s intensive care unit.
