The Volkswagen Polo GT TSI was so far the only ‘hot hatch’ in the Indian market. But now it seems it is about to face some serious Italian invasion when the Fiat Abarth Punto hits the market. So which one’s better? Let’s find out.
From pure looks point of view, the VW Polo GT TSI is hardly any different from the normal Polo GT, except probably for the TSI badging. The Punto Abarth in this case has a lot to offer. The Abarth insignia all over the car, the diamond shaped alloy wheels, the sporty decals – all combine to give the Abarth Punto EVO the Philip it needs in the looks department.
On the performance front, The Abarth Punto EVO comes with a 1.4-liter T-Jet motor, which can unleash 145BHP of power. On the other hand, the VW Polo GT TSI comes with a 1.2-liter TSI engine that can shoot the car from 0-100kmph in under 10 seconds.
At the end it seems everything will come down to pricing. If the Abarth Punto EVO can undercut the VW Polo TSI in this front, it will surely take the cake.
