Umno Wanita chief Sharizat Abdul Jalil stated that women should "have their own wallets" and be financially independent, adding that they are the biggest consumers in the country.

She was speaking at the launch of the Chinese New Year "Pasarnita" here at Central Market Kuala Lumpur. The event features more than 100 female vendors selling handicraft and homemade foods over this weekend.
