The Congress of South Africa Trade Unions (COASTU) was instrumental in dismantling apartheid in South Africa in the 1980s, and has long been a force for justice all over the the world. However, over the last several years, a split has emerged and an internal struggle has led to the explosion of key leaders in the movement, including General Secretary Zwelinzima Vavi.
