The debt crisis in Puerto Rico continues to worsen. The island is unable to pay its crippling $73 billion debt to creditors, and analysts warn that the crisis in Puerto Rico could be even worse than the crisis in Greece. The island’s Chief of Staff says that the territory will not pay off a $93.7 million debt installment owed to the Puerto Rico Public Financing Corporation which is due on August 1. The U.S. Commonwealth Territory began negotiations with U.S. creditors earlier this month. teleSUR
