NTSB has announced that it believes the Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo accident was likely caused when the co-pilot prematurely engaged a braking system during acceleration, causing the craft to break apart.
The likely cause of the fatal October 31st crash of Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo has been identified.
Based on a nine month-long review of the accident, officials with the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board have determined that human error was probably a main factor.
They reportedly have video of the copilot, Michael Alsbury, prematurely engaging a brake-like system which is designed to slow the craft by activating the tail wings.
