Black Lives Matter seeks to strengthen its organization in a national conference this weekend. The movement has developed over the last year in reaction to police impunity in the murders of black people throughout the country and has largely consisted of street protests. Members say they now need space to collectively create a mission, begin to heal from traumas people have suffered and “build a sense of fellowship that transcends geographical boundaries.” Workshops, support groups, discussions are being held on a wide range of topics at Cleveland State University in Ohio. teleSUR
