An unmanned MQ-1 Predator drone worth around $21 million was found crashed near Samawa, Iraq, about 200 miles south of Baghdad. The drone was flying on a combat mission as part of US-led operations against the Islamic State when it crashed, but according to U.S. Air Forces Central Command, was not downed by enemy fire. The MQ-1 reportedly cost the Pentagon billions to develop as part of the U.S. Army's Aviation Modernization Plan and weighs around 1,075 pounds.
