Tangy Mayo Cole Slaw Recipe

A staple at summer cook outs and picnics!

Ingredients:
1 medium head green cabbage
1 carrot, shredded
1 Tbsp (15 mL) minced onion
1 cup (250 mL) mayonnaise
1/3 cup (75 ml) sugar
1/4 cup (60 mL) vinegar
1/4 tsp (1 mL) celery seed
1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground black pepper
salt, to taste

Method:
Shred (chop, slice) cabbage into a large bowl; add grated carrot and onion. Toss to combine. Whisk together mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, and celery seed. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add dressing to the cabbage mixture and toss until combined. Refrigerate before serving, to allow flavours to mix.
Serves 6 to 8.
