Prosecutors have announced a probe against former President Lula da Silva for alleged influence peddling on behalf of construction giant Oderbrecht. Lula is suspected of using his status as a major world figure to land billion dollar deals for the company, while the ruling Workers’ Party say the probe is part of an attempt to undermine the party.
