After spending a few days adrift at sea after his bought caught fire, a man and his canine companion were rescued by the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard in Florida responded to a somewhat unusual emergency on July 10th.
They rescued a man and his dog who had been stuck at sea nearly 69 miles west from the coast of Hudson.
The 35-year-old man's sailboat, named Southern Belle, had caught on fire and the two shipmates boarded the boat's dinghy.
The man radioed the Coast Guard to let them know what had happened, and that he had food and water.
A helicopter crew set out to find and rescue them.
