Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani hailed a new chapter in his country’s relations with the Western world after Tehran reached a nuclear deal with six world powers.
“Today marks an end and a begining. It is the end of unfair and tyrannical accusations against the great people of Iran. And it is the beginning of a new era, and a process of new collaborations in the world,” Rouhani said.
Rouhani, elected in 2013, has been committed to getting sanctions against Iran lifted.
He said: “Since my first day, my inauguration day, I have said that the West could reach an agreement with us – from the moment they stopped humiliating us and threatening us, and started respecting us.”
