·        Balance method of Preparing Trial Balance : In this method of trial balance, net balance of each of the ledger accounts are entered separately in the two columns. This is also known as net trial balance. Usually this method is used because it helps in the preparation of Final Accounts.

·        Totals method of Preparing Trial Balance or Gross Trial balance : In this method, trial balance total of each of the Debit and Credit side of every account, is recorded in the Debit and Credit column of trial balance respectively.
