People throughout the country affected by mining practices protested an international mining forum being held on Thursday in Tegucigalpa for the stated purpose of bringing more investment to the country. But protesters say that in Honduras the rules are written to favor private companies and charge that mining will do untold damage to the environment and people’s health. They also say they have not been consulted about mining plans and that they will continue to protest. Gerardo Torres reports from Tegucigalpa from teleSUR.
